elderly need to keep warm - to cut winter fuel shows inability of this Tory government to think outside the box and interconnect other areas of our daily living and services.... Muscles and joints do not work the same if cold this leads to falls and more burden on the NHS as elderly patients come to A/E with fractured neck of femur a common injury in a fall as bones become brittle with age. Elderly as Jeremy highlighted today can easily suffer hypothermia and die .. our metabolism is slower in aging so our heat production is less and we need to keep warm by layering and convection from outside source... we need a warm environment. We are going hungry and this leads to being cold as we all need the inner fuel to keep our liver working to be the powerhouse for internal heat generation. and as society we need compassion and love to keep us all warm ... for goodness sake a Society without compassion ceases to be a society ... we need to drive that compassion with heart not ££$££$££$ worship!! and on the subject of £$£$££ we elderly have put in an enormous amount of tax over the years so why this attack on us and our families? I personally am suffering from Toryitis exhaustion and being threatened with eviction from my OAP sheltered bungalow by a Tory local government LBH.... !! yes 63yrs old woman alone to be put on the streets!!! unable to get my state pension as discriminated against being born in 1954 yet worked since 1969. I have to wait till 2020 to get the pension I have contributed too if I have not starved to death in the meantime or dropped with hypothermia... are we being killed off as nuisances??? we are the X factor in the elections they forget this... and sure not putting an X in the Tory box .... only fools will do that...!! Where is the respect for the elderly?
